MOBILE VETERINARY CARE?

Mobile veterinary care offers significant benefits for both pets and their owners. One of the primary advantages is the reduction of stress for pets, as they can receive care in the comfort of their own environment. This is particularly beneficial for anxious or elderly animals who may struggle with the sights and sounds of a traditional veterinary clinic. Additionally, owners appreciate the convenience of not having to travel, which saves time and can make routine check-ups much more manageable.

Moreover, mobile veterinary services often provide a more personalized experience, allowing for longer consultation times and a deeper connection between the veterinarian, pet, and owner. This tailored approach can lead to understanding and management of a pet’s health needs. With the added benefit of comprehensive services, such as vaccinations, wellness checks, and even palliative care, at-home veterinary care enhances the overall quality of life pets while giving owners peace of mind.

  • Do you perform the examinations in the home?
Family Companion Mobile Veterinary Care performs examinations, diagnostics, and treatments wherever you and your pet is the most comfortable. For some pets this can be in the house while others prefer to have these services performed in our mobile van. We ask that all patients are readily available for their appointment when we arrive. This means that we recommend cats are place in a bathroom or laundry room (limited areas of furniture to hide under) prior to our arrival to limit the amount of time needed to find and catch the patient prior to examination.
  • Do you sedate in the home setting?
No. Family Companion Mobile Veterinary Care does NOT sedate any patients in the home setting due to behavioral or medical needs. If your pet requires full sedation for physical examinations or diagnostics, it is advised that they seek care with a full-service, brick-and-mortar vet.
  • Do you perform surgeries or dental procedures?
No. Family Companion Mobile Veterinary Care does not provide surgical or dental procedures in the mobile setting. These services require general anesthesia and intense monitoring that we are not able to provide in our mobile clinic. If your pet warrants surgical or dental care, the doctor will advise you of this during the house call and a list of providers for these services will be provided to you.

Please note: Family Companion Mobile Veterinary Care is not equipped to handle patient emergencies and are NOT available on an emergency basis. If you feel that your pet requires immediate medical attention, please contact the nearest veterinary emergency hospital. Our dedicated, compassionate, and experienced doctors will thoroughly examine your pet prior to any diagnostics or treatments. If further care is deemed necessary during your at-home visit, you will be informed of this so that you can make the best medical decision for your family and pet.
